About This Class:
Active Parenting for Stepfamilies is a video-based, interactive learning experience that teaches a comprehensive model of stepfamiliy parenting for all ages. Class is generally 6 sessions, two hours each. We will address general parenting skills, as well as special needs and circumstances that emerge when a stepfamily forms, such as loss and grief, blending cultures and histories, setting limits, establishing new relationships, and more.
It’s Complicated. I know from experience. Being in a stepfamily brings additional challenges to the already complex job of being a parent. Here is where extra support and skill really become important. Active Parenting for Stepfamilies provides hope, skill, and research to help you navigate these challenging waters.
Who Should Take Active Parenting for Stepfamilies?
This course is designed to serve parents of children ages 2-17, although it is informative for grandparents, or anyone who is touched by step familiy issues. It is also appropriate for foster parents, single parents in preparation for remarriage, parents of adopted children, and others who care for children after separation or loss.
